Personal Description: I am a New Zealand trained teacher who lives in Christchurch.
I work at a local primary school and enjoy my role as a classroom teacher.
When I am not teaching I enjoy running, cycling and relaxing with a good book.

Tutoring Experience: I have been teaching for eight years. I am a trained Reading Recovery tutor and have taught Reading Recovery for the past two years. I have also completed The Numeracy Project training for Maths and have an indepth working knowledge of each stage. I am passionate about helping students achieve thier best in literacy and numeracy.

Tutoring Approach: I provide a supportive and friendly teaching environment where the student can feel comfortable with their learning.
I believe it is important to acknowledge and build on what the student "knows now" in literacy and numeracy to give them the confidence to gain new learning and understanding.

• Bachelor of Teaching and Learning - 2001 (New Zealand Graduate School of Education)
