Personal Description: I am a 19 year old 2nd year university student. I play the bagpipes in the current 3rd nationally placed pipe band, and we are going to the World Pipe Band championships in 2010. I have been singing my whole life, have appeared in many musicals, travelled to Canada in 2007 for international barbershop chamionships and placed 9th -the highest place ever received by a NZ group. I received excellent grades in music while at school and received my school's music cup.

Tutoring Experience: I have had many bagpiping and singing pupils, and tutored music for lower grades while I was at school, to great success.

Tutoring Approach: If you would like practical tutoring - for instance singing or piping lessons - I take a quite practical approach. I like to make things fun and interesting, but still incorporate the basic techniques that lay the foundations for a great performer.

If you would like tutoring for the more theoretical side, i still like to make things practical. The theory of music is often neglected and if taught correctly can be made quite fun :)

• Royal New Zealand Pipe Band Association's Advanced Piping Exam
