Personal Description: Hi, I’m David . I have more than 25 years experience in professional Japanese teaching, translation and interpreting, including ten years studying and translating in Japan. I bring an unrivalled knowledge of the language and culture, and a deep understanding of the process of learning a foreign language.

Tutoring Experience: While I have experience in teaching both Japanese and English, my primary experience with Japanese is in translation and interpreting. Having studied the language then from the same position as my students are in now provides a profound understanding of the process of learning Japanese.

Tutoring Approach: Learning Japanese requires both memorizing and motivation. I like to start with a few simple words and progress as quickly as possible to creating simple phrases and sentences to give the student a sense of achievement and develop motivation.
